Balinese philosophy knowledge (Kala Patra)

DESA, KALA, PATRA...

This is common Balinese philosophy to determine right or wrong..

DESA, in this instance means LOCATION (the place).
KALA, here means TIME (the period of time).
PATRA, is here used to indicate CIRCUMSTANCE (situation, condition, culture, ability etc..).

What is true at one time is not necessarily true at another time. Similarly, what is true in a place or state, may turn out to be wrong in another place or circumstance

Desa, kala and patra are usually followed by sabda, bayu and idep.

SABDA or sound (suara) is connected to the words (speak).
BAYU or power (tenaga) is connected to the act.
IDEP or thoughts (pikiran) is connected to the mind or intention.

This is why wherever, whenever, in that situation people should think, say and do according to the environment.
