New underwater diving spot in Nusa Dua

Nusa Dua newest underwater tourist spot for divers to observe the Garuda statue or similar objects can be visited on 4 other locations in Pandawa, Sanur, Serangan and Buleleng.

  Nusa Dua Reef Foundation is proud to have completed 750's underwater statues for ICRG-PEN in Nusa Dua  last December 2020. All statues, with themes of Garu da Nusantara (140), Kecak Dance (305) and Covid Alert (305) have installed in 3 Block locations around Nusa Dua and other diving spots in Bali.
The underwater statues to be artificial reefs that attract marine species including corals, fishes, sponge, hydroid and algae, which can support marine ecosystem and quickly become a new diving spot.

Nusa Dua Reef Foundation is established in 2010 with the vision to create multi-stakeholder concerns to conserve coral reefs of the world, especially Bali island and to reduce the climate change impacts on coral reefs. We are committed to protect the coral reefs in Bali, especially Nusa Dua and seek national and international stakeholders involve in actions to conserve coral reef and reduce climate change impacts on coral reefs. After developing the underwater coral gardens in Bali from October untill  December 2020, the Ministry of Marine Affairs and  partners also placed items  in the waters of Gili Meno, North Lombok with the support of  the West Nusa Tenggara Dive Community .The design theme of the Garuda statue equipped with a fish dome and other structures involved more than 10 thousand people and produced artificial reef structures of many more items.

According Tb. Haeru Rahayu, this is created to support the vision and mission as a community who cares about the sustainability of the  marine and coastal ecosystems and the development of marine tourism.

Meanwhile, Director of Marine Services Miftahul Huda added that the ICRG Bali replication shows that ICRG carries a positive message for the preservation of coral ecosystems, new marine tourism attractions and the impact on increasing people's income during the pandemic.

Miftahul Huda Director of Marine Services Miftahul Huda highlighted the fact that the tourist attraction of the Garuda statue in North Lombok attracting many tourists who want to make a selfie and the location is now set to revive new tourism activities in North Lombok.
