Mount Raung Volcanic Ash affected flights at Bali Airport

Mount Raung Volcanic Ash reached Bali in Karangasem and affected Denpasar Airport with 4 cancelled flights on Wednesday 10/02/2021. Volcanic ash from the eruption of Mount Raung in Banyuwangi, ( East Java )  reached a number of areas in Bali. A number of residents in the Karangasem area had reported volcanic ash around their house. The ash was very thin and immediately disappeared because of the rain and did not spread. Residents reported that a number of ashes were seen sticking to the leaves, cars and roof tiles of their houses. The volcanic ash did not interfere with the residents  activities.

Bali Airport flights cancelled

Bali Airport confirmed that the volcanic ash had no effect on the airport activities in general, but  four flights to and from Bali were canceled due to volcanic ash on Tuesday 09/02/2021. The canceled flights were two departures on the Bali-Lombok-Banyuwangi route and two arrivals on  the Banyuwangi-Lombok-Bali route. The flight was canceled because the airport in Banyuwangi was closed. There are currently no reports of other cancelled flights.

The BMKG Denpasar Weather Forecast could see from satellite views  that the Mount Raung's volcanic ash reached Bali by wind in western Buleleng ,Jembrana , North Tabanan, North Badung, and North Bangli  on Wednesday (10/2/2021) at 12.00 H.
