Bali's Provincial minimum salary increasing by 8.03 % or 2.297.968 IDR from start of 2019

s of November 1, 2018, the Bali Provincial Minimum Wage (UMP) is   set to increase by around 8.03% or Rp.170,811.70, from the beginning of 2018 which has been applied at Rp.2,127,157 to Rp.2,297 .968.70 in 2019. This affirmation was conveyed by the Head of the Bali Province Public Relations and Protocol Protocol I Dewa Gede Mahendra Putra, SH., MH in a press release on Tuesday (6/11).

"By paying attention to productivity and economic growth, and based on decent living needs, the Provincial Government of Bali has set an increase in the UMP for 2019 as outlined in Bali Governor Regulation Number 87 of 2018 concerning the Provincial Minimum Wage. This regulation is effective starting January 1, 2019, so employers and companies have been able to design their employee payroll from now on, "said Dewa Mahendra.

Furthermore, Dewa Mahendra explained based on Pergub Bali Number 87 of 2018 the stipulated minimum wage applies to unmarried workers whose work period is less than 1 year, including workers who are still on probation. "In accordance with the wage guidelines set forth in the Pergub, the UMP is applied to workers whose work period is under a year. Whereas workers who have a work period of 1 year or more are negotiated bipartite in the company concerned. For example, it is adjusted using the Wage Scale Structure, "he said. The intended Wage Scale structure is such as class allowance, length of service, position, or education and competence. In addition, for companies that have provided wages higher than the UMP, they are asked not to reduce or reduce these wages.

The increase in the UMP according to Dewa Mahendra will also be followed by an increase in the Regency / City Minimum Wage, if the Regency / City concerned proposes a new Minimum Wage stipulation. "Whereas Districts / Cities have not proposed new minimum wage stipulations.
