Nyepi escape : thousands of foreign tourists and expatriates flee from Bali to Lombok or Gili Islands.

Since the two days seems Bali ports are filled with foreign tourists and expatriates travelling to the port of Lembar, Lombok and the Gili Islands before the upcomming Nyepi Day [ Silent Day ] on Thursday (03/07/2019). 

 

The information gathered said that most of the tourists wanted to vacation on Gili Trawangan. 

From a circular from the PHDI of Bali Province, the Padang Bai Port Authority and Port Authority Office will close the port on March 7 th 2019 next morning.

"In connection with the Nyepi celebration, we will close the crossing activities on Thursday (7/20199) with the departure of the last vessel from Padang Bai Port at 3:00 a.m.," said I Nyoman Parwata, Officer of KSOP Padang Bai.

 Crossing and shipping activities will be re-opened on Friday March 8 with the departure of the first ship from Padang Bai Harbor at 09.00 WIB.

Meanwhile, to avoid the presence of passengers or crossing vehicles displaced in the Padang Bai Port due to not being transported by the last vessel,

his side appealed to prospective passengers on crossing services at Padang Bai Port to leave early.

Even PT ASDP and OPP of Padang Bai Port, will increase the number of trips. This is intended to anticipate that all vehicles and passengers can be crossed before the port is closed.

Many expatriates who stayed on Bali  during Nyepi during the previous years, decided to leave after last years first internet shutdown
