Bali finally opens borders for visa holders after official announcement has been published in circular letter by the Indonesian immigration services  on Wednesday 11/02/2021.

In connection with the issuance of the COVID-19 Handling Task Force Circular Number 8 of 2021
dated February 9, 2021 concerning International Travel Health Protocol during the Corona Virus
Disease 2019 (COVID-19) Pandemic, it is hereby conveyed as follows:
1. The Circular of the Task Force for Handling COVID-19 Number 8 of 2021 states that the
provisions of the foreigners traffic entering Indonesian territory are guided by the Regulation of
the Minister of Law and Human Rights Number 26 of 2020 concerning Visas and Stay Permits
in the New Habit Adaptation Period as stated in letter F number 2 (a);
2. Administrative requirements and exemptions for foreigners who can enter Indonesian territory:
a. Administrative requirements for submitting eVisa:
1) does not require RT-PCR results;
2) foreigners are required to submit a statement letter that they are willing to cover the
treatment cost independently if being exposed to COVID-19 while in Indonesia.
b. Exceptions from the restrictions on foreigners who can enter Indonesian territory:
1) valid KITAS and KITAP holders;
2) Foreigners who already have eVisa;
3) Medical assistance and support, food and humanitarian reasons;
4) The crew of the conveyance; and
5) Foreigners who will work on vital strategic projects, national vital objects, national
strategic projects, provisions of number 3, number 4 and point 5 can be given based on the
recommendation from the related technical ministries / institutions;
3. Foreigners who have extended their Visit Stay Permit 4 (four) times and do not exceed 180
(one hundred and eighty) days and holders of Limited Stay Permits who cannot extend their
Residence Permits in accordance with statutory regulations are required to apply for a new
Stay Permit by applying for a Visa onshore;
4. To apply for an onshore Visa before the expiration of recent Stay Permit;

5. The validity period of the new Stay Permit originating from the onshore Visa is calculated
based on the onshore Visa approval date, without calculating the previous Stay Permit
expiration date with the onshore Visa approval as an overstay period (exceeding the Stay
Permit deadline);
6. With the validity of this confirmation letter, the circular number IMI-GR.01.01-0210 dated
January 26, 2021 concerning Confirmation and Extension of the Circular of the Director
General of Immigration Number IMI-0103.GR.01.01 Year 2021 is declared to remain valid.
7. In certain circumstances, the Minister based on his authority can issue other policies related to
immigration facilities as long as they provide general benefits and national economic recovery.
