Kedonganan has two beaches, which on the west coast people can see white sand beach and sunset, and the beauty of mangrove forests on the east coast. To promote the local tourist attraction, the Kedonganan community presents the 2nd Mina Wisata Festival, involving fishermen, youth and artists to display cultural creativity to local and foreign tourists.

This year, the festival will be held on Friday, September 20 to Sunday, September 22, 2019, and will be themed Soul of the Sea, which means the sea as the soul for the survival of the Kedonganan people.

Dr. I Wayan Mertha, SE., M.Si as the Bendesa (cultural leader) of Kedonganan, hopes that Kedonganan’s Mina Wisata Festival will raise the spirit of the young generation in Kedonganan and to build and foster an entrepreneurial spirit from an early age.

Some programs on the festival are kite competition, cooking competition, fishing competition, lantern competition, flair bartending competition, sand sculpture competition, photography and documentary competition, hygiene and sanitation competition for local café, food bazaar and exhibition, free health check-up, cooking demonstrations and stand up paddle competition as the first step to increase tourist visits, especially stand up paddle fans.

Besides, there will be also a beach cleanup program run by the Sukma Bali Community and the IHGMA (Indonesian Hotel General Manager Association). The cleanup will be held at beaches in Bali on September 21 at 6 AM, which will be attended by 1500 people.

Christian Gumala, General Manager of Jimbaran Bay Beach Resort & Spa as the only 4-star resort in Kedonganan Beach, expressed his appreciation and support for all positive activities held by the Kedonganan community.

“With this activity, I hope that local people, domestic and foreign tourists will know more about Kedonganan Beach which is as beautiful as other beaches in Indonesia, especially in Bali,” he said.
